After volunteering and coaching with various teams from Little League to AAU for over a decade, and noticing the cost of travel teams rising to a point where parents of inner city kids could not afford, Coach Tito was determined to do what he could to make a difference. He envisioned a travel team based in the City of New Haven, where inner city youths had the opportunity to join a competitive travel baseball team with fall/winter training sessions at an affordable price for the parents. Coach Titos’ vision of CT Cubs Baseball Team become a reality when he met with several parents and assistant coaches over a weekend to write the by-laws that started the process of the Connecticut Cubs becoming Incorporated with the State of Connecticut and a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with the Internal Revenue Services.
In the inaugural season of the CT Cubs, Coach Tito fielded a team of 12 players, mostly 11 years old, who had not played with each other. After a rough start to the season the players learned to play with each other and finish the season strong, making the CT Cubs a familiar name in the CT travel baseball arena.
Fast forward two years later to 2020 and with a strong demand for a younger team, Coach Tito has expanded the CT Cubs to field two teams, 13U and 9U.
